| After completing a performance degree at Lancaster University - Mark began his vocal stage career presenting the role of Al Jolson on a National Tour. This role followed a stint in Gershwin's musical, Crazy for You in which he played the lead - tap dancing banker, Bobby Child and continuing this with appearances in other well known musical productions including, Carousel and Oklahoma. In Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim's Gypsy - Mark presented the role of Tulsa and in Kiss Me Kate, Mark's "Too Darn Hot" as Paul gained him critical acclaim. However, it was Frank Loesser's Guys and Dolls which really gave him the opportunity to couple his love of "Ol Blue Eyes" (Frank Sinatra) and musical theatre in the role of Sky Masterson. Working with both BBC local radio and the national networks, Mark has shared his knowledge and experience of music and musical theatre with audiences all over the country, featuring on numerous arts and culture programmes. Now, training young people in both the art of musical theatre and voice, Mark spends a lot of his time performing with the Warrington-based Harry Goulden Big Band and as a solo performer for the De Vere Hotel Group. His popular light jazz repertoire of the "all time greats" means that weddings, business events and other various celebrations have enjoyed his vocal style on numerous occasions. Always with the aim of making "my kind of music" accessible to everyone his friendly and natural style of performance gives him the unique edge over other performers in the field. |
